Well done Senator Cory Booker! Congratulations!
I like tradition! Even when the tradition is pretty meaningless ... but actually especially when it is meaningless.
I had completely forgotten that it was the cantankerous Senator Strom Thurman that went through this ritual almost 70 years ago in 1957 ... and now it is Senator Cory Booker that has done it again.
As I understand it, Senator Booker has done it for good reason ... to draw attention to the constitutional damage being done to the United States by President Donald Trump and the Republicans in Congress together with the rich enablers like Elon Musk and Peter Thiel.
So far, the Democrats have done little to stop the mayhem that Trump and his enablers have created ... but slowly, maybe, something is stirring ... and about time too! Better late than never.
The Booker event ... while meaningless also speaks clearly that important action in opposition to the Trump agenda is important and long overdue!

Senator Cory Booker has broken the record of longest speech given on the Senate Chamber floor on Tuesday.
The New Jersey senator spoke for more than 24 hours with barely any breaks in a speech criticising the Trump administration's policies. The speech began Monday night and he was still speaking at at 19:20 on Tuesday.
He surpassed the record of 24 hours and 18 minutes set by Strom Thurmond in a 1957 filibuster speech intended to prevent the passage of the Civil Rights Act of that year.
'I rise with the intention of disrupting the normal business of the United States Senate for as long as I am physically able,' Booker said.
