COMMON DREAMS HUNDREDS OF REPORTS ... MONTH OF MARCH 2025 ![]() Destruction in Gaza Peter Burgess COMMENTARY Common Dreams is an initiative that documents many, if not most, of the themes that are important and valuable and in the news at any moment in time. I was an avid reader of their material many years ago, but less so recently ... that is for the last several years. I have been digging into their material during the past few weeks and am impressed. Or maybe it is simply that I am finding myself largely in agreement with the point of view that they are reporting! I am exploring different ways to keep myself informed and to organise material so that it is more useful not only to inform but also to actually do something useful with the information. Several months ago, I made the effort to print out the 900+ pages of Project 2025 published by the Heritage Foundation. Though Trump denied having anything to do with this 'magnum opus', it has been interesting to link the writers of various parts of this work with the positions many of the writers now hold in the Trump Administration. It is not encouraging. The material I am collating from Common Dreams is actually very comprehensive and likely more relevant than the Project 2025 from the Heritage Foundation. It is not easy to organize because it is fast moving information that is being pushed around by many actors with many different roles. Pictures of wrecked buildings in Gaza have a lot in common with what Trump, Musk, et al are trying to do with the routine activities of the US Government as they move through Washington with as much destructive power as they can bring to bear! The power to destroy is quite easy ... putting the broken pieces back together takes a long time and a lot of effort! Peter Burgess | |||||||||
