I am still a member of the Saw Creek Men's Club ... but I am in two minds about whether I will stay a member.

At the January meeting I spoke a bit about my political concerns, and it was clear that my very brief comment was not appreciated by the powere that be.

The following month ... at a remote Zoom meeting, I spoke again ... and it was clear that my observations were objected to by some of the club members.

Subsequently, the President of the Men's Club called me by telephone and made it very clear to me that my coments were out of order.

For the moment I have decided not to make an issue of this ... but I am very much motivated to do something, though not at all sure what that something should be.

Fo the moment I will push ahead as fast as I can with my TVM initiative and not 'waste my time' with Americans who are happily enjoying the music on the Titanic!

With Sadness Regarding Our Friend Alan Brower

Gentlemen,

It is with a very heavy heart that I write today to inform you that our friend and long-time club member Alan Brower has lost his battle with cancer. Alan died on Saturday morning at his home here in Saw Creek Estates.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025 from 4 to 8PM at Leo F. Kearns Funeral Homes, 61-40 Woodhaven Blvd, Rego Park, NY 11374. The family also intends to hold a memorial in Saw Creek Estates at a future date.

Having has his fill of meetings during his career, Alan was not often seen at our club’s monthly business meetings. However, he seldom missed our post-meeting camaraderie at the Top of the World Restaurant. He will be sorely missed.

Our hearts go out to his wife Michele and all other family members. May the love of family and friends be of comfort during this time.

Greetings Everyone,

The next meeting of the Saw Creek Estates Men's Club will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at 6 pm. Expecting that we'll have better weather than last month, our intent is to have our meeting at the Derrenbacher Community Center (DCC) on Decker Rd. We will have refreshments, but note that it's BYOB and we ask everyone to not bring glass bottles.

We have a lot to discuss, including ideas for fun things that we may do together. So, let me know if you have any questions and know that we're looking forward to seeing all of you at our meeting.
