The Hamas attack on Israel is something that should be condemned. It is understandable and acceptable that Israel should respond hard to crush Hamas. Nevertheless. it should not be ignored that there is a right wing faction in Israel that has been gaining power and influence over several years that advocates for Israel's dominance over the total georgraphic region at the expense of the Palestinians ... and most important, this faction has an important role in Netanyahu's government and, indeed is essential for Netanyahu to be in power! There has been a 'creeping' annexation of Palestinian land by the Israeli's and this has given organizations like Hamas a certain level of legitimacy. Isreal has not followed international mandates at its convenience when it comes to issues like 'settlements' in the 'occupied territories'.
