The infrastructure that was built in the UK in the Victorian era ... during the industrial revolution ... is quite spectacular.
We tend to think that we are doing amazing things in the modern time, and in some ways we are, but it is only partially true. Compared to many of the things that were achieved in the Victorian era, what is being achieved to today is somewhat pedestrian!
