TPB observation: A TEAM is usually preferable to a single person, but the members of the team need to be 'on the same page' and 'pulling together in the same direction'. Putting a team together is not easy, and it becomes very difficult as one gets older with more and more accumulated experience. I have tried several times to build a team rather than working alone, but it has proved counter-productive because of the disconnect between what I have experienced and what so many younger people have been taught.

SOMETHING I LEARNED AS A SCHOOLBOY TEAM is way more powerful than an individual, even a star
Richard Sharp ... scoring for England against Scotland in 1963
Richard Sharp ... an amazing rugby player from the 1960s!
I went to school with Richard Sharp. I was one year younger than Richard. We both played rugby, and because I was a full back and he played either as a scrum half or fly-half, I played against him in almost all of our training games!
Interestingly, as a future star at the international level, not surprisingly he was also the star on our school rugby team. The year after he left and we no longer had a star on the team, we had a better record than the year before when we had Richard Sharp as the star. It is amazing what teamwork will do!
For the record, Richard Sharp was captain of Blundell's School rugby team, and then the Navy team, and then the Oxford University side and then the English team .. quite a story!
In early 2013, the Guardian wrote a very interesting piece about Richard Sharp's rugby career looking back some 50 years!
Cricket team of Westlake House, Blundell's School in c1956 ... Richard Sharp is seated, Peter Burgess is standing behind him towards the middle
I believe Westlake won the inter-house cricket competition that year. We had a good team with everyone making important contributions. Though individual performance is important in cricket, it takes everyone making their contribution to become a winning side. Teamwork matters.
