Elon Musk, a very rich and very powerful businessman versus Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a right minded progressive congresswoman.

For me. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) getting elected to congress was a breath of fresh air.
Older people like me are often very bothered by young people being in positions of power and for very good reason. For me this is not the case with AOC.
Yes ... it is true that AOC does not have 20 years of legislative experience, but she does have a pretty well trained brain, and her experiential traiing hs been significant on top of a pretty decent academic education. She has survived the school of hard knocks, and has learned a lot about what really matters.
Is she too progressive? Hell ... NO !!!!!!!!!!
In my book she is very right minded about a whole host of progressive goals. A few people understand this portfolio of goals, but by no means enough. These goals are already implemented and the norm in a lot of advanced countries in the modern world ... but not the USA in general and especially not in States where the Republicans control the agenda.
AOC and other progressives seem to understand that the USA has a quality of life for most people that is towards the low end of the advanced countries of the modern world.
Like many Republicans, I would be happy for there to be no government intervention in support of a reasonable quality of life for ALL Americams ... but that is not what has emerged after the policy choices of the past four decades. Now the United States is faced with record levels of poverty, homelessness and other malaises with no indication that the 'free enterprise capitalist' system is going self-correct now or at any time in the future. A well thought through progressive agenda can change things for the better ... and AOC is part of that movement.

Peter,
Alexandria just took Elon Musk and other billionaires to task, on Twitter, for their claims that the “extreme left” is taking over, when in reality our “extreme” agenda is simple: protect and lift up working families.
The truth is, billionaires are mad that our progressive movement — and, in turn, its agenda — are growing, since it’s the conservative candidates they fund who allow them to continue building more wealth.
Enough is enough, Peter. As Alexandria tweeted, the number of billionaires in the United States couldn’t even fill an apartment building, but the number of people they negatively impact is only growing. Here’s the “extreme far-left” agenda:

- And that Wall Street companies and massive corporations shouldn’t profit off mass surveillance, a manufactured housing crisis, and caging people.
- Alexandria is fighting for an agenda that puts working people first — one that ensures families can get the health care they need and afford to put food on their tables, and builds an equitable future for the next generations. That’s why we need to keep her in Congress.
