THE UKRAINE WAR
MEDIA COVERAGE

Some TPB commentary ... December 1st, 2023

Peter Burgess COMMENTARY
Generally speaking, the international media coverage of the Ukraine War has been fairly good since the beginning of the war in February 2022.

Since the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7th 2023, however, coverage of the Ukraine War has diminished substantially, and also become significantly more negative vis-a-vis Ukraine.

There are many reasons for this and I am sure that I am not identifying them all.

The biggest media change in the last two months has been the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7th and the subsequent military response by the IDF (Israel Defence Force) On all the media that I see, the Hamas Israel war is the top story and the Ukraine war story has almost totally disappeared. I find this very disturbing because the Ukraine war is significantly more important for the future of the world than Hamss Israel.

I do not say this with any disrespect to Israel and the Palestinians but in order to get things a little bit in perspective.

A few months ago there was a big story in connection with Sudan. Whatever happened in connection with the violence in Sudan?

And not far distant from Sudan, there was violence in Niger and a coup which removed the President from power. Whatever happened in Niger?

Trying to be reasonably well informed about what is going on around the world is difficult, and it is reasonably understandable that most of the general public cannot stay up-to-date and well informed.

However, for a lot of people ... and probably far and away the majority, most of their global knowledge comes from dubiously reliable news sources, msny of which are likely to be getting funding and feed from America's enemies
