GEOPOLITICS
USA AND CHINA ... XI AND BIDEN

TPB ... These players are critical for the future of the planet not only in the here and now, but also for the long term.

Xi and Biden

Peter Burgess COMMENTARY
Chairman Xi and President Biden are the most powerful two people on planet earth.

How they use their power is critical for the future of the planet not only in the here and now, but also for the long term.

For quite a long time, I was very optimistic about Xi and the manner in which China was becoming economically more successful.

In the lasst two years, I have become very appreciate of most of what Biden has accomplished in terms of responsible progressive legislation to improve the quality of life of Americans, while also doing a reasonable job of improving America's stature around the world.

But all is not well, and there are major issues that are not getting resolved but are becoming more problematic.

It is increasinlgy likely that there will be a collision between one of more of the core interests of China and those of America. Biden has said that the does not want 'conflict' between the USA and China, but rather healthy 'competition'. This sounds 'OK' but it may not be as good as it sounds. There are a lot of points where healthy competition could easily morph into dangeruos conflict.

In the future, there is likely to be conflict between China and the USA. It is easy to predict that such conflict would produce negative results for both nations and especially the people of both nations. In many ways, it is insane to think that this possibility exists ... but that is the way the world has been run in the past, and nobody seems to be thinking about a better way of handling geopolitical differences. One has to wonder why rational analysis never seems to get done when the issues are really big.

TrueValueMetrics.org (TVM) is a rather modest initiative that I have been working on rather sporadically for many years. The management metrics are not very sophisticated, but aim to be relevant for any and all activities of the global socio-enviro-economioc system from the biggest to the smallest. People in ordinary life quite often refer to 'sin-win' outcomes, and it should be normal for this to be the aim for all activities and all aggregations of activities everywhere. To me it makes no sense that such a system of management metrics does not presently seem to exist. Sadly, if it does exist, it is probably hidden so that its owner / user can deploy it to accumulate the most wealth for him/herself.

Both China and the United States have a huge potential to deliver on a world that is more peaceful, happy and glorious than anything ever in the history of the world. It is up to leadership to make it happen. I believe Biden would embrace this ... and it could be embraced by Xi as well ... which would be wonderful.

TrueValueMetrics (TVM) is an Open Source / Open Knowledge initiative. It has been funded by family and friends. TVM is a 'big idea' that has the potential to be a game changer. The goal is for it to remain an open access initiative.
WE WANT TO MAINTAIN AN OPEN KNOWLEDGE MODEL
A MODEST DONATION WILL HELP MAKE THAT HAPPEN
