🇺🇸 On Saturday, 14 June 2025, while watching Trump’s military parade, I couldn't help but feel that it wasn’t a proper parade — the soldiers looked listless and lethargic.
Someone in the live chat said: 'It's more like a funeral than a parade.' and another also said: 'Trump wanted a Russia/China style power parade instead he got a funeral parade.'
This wasn’t what Trump was hoping for. Nominally, the event was meant to mark the US Army’s 250th anniversary. But no one really believes that that was the reason for the parade. Instead, the event marked Trump’s 79th birthday and was meant both to celebrate his seizure of power and underscore his determination to quash dissent. The armed forces were used as an ornament to his ego and a threat to his enemies. —— The Guardian
So yeah, I ended up switching it off and watching a Chinese military parade instead — I needed something proper.

🏴 Three days later, I found out the annual Linlithgow Marches were happening—and I knew I had to be there. I made my way to that beautiful historic town, and soon, the sound of bagpipes filled the air. I did my best to follow and film the incredible SCOTS as they marched with pride through the ancient streets. It was my very first time witnessing a Scottish military parade in person—and from so close. Kilts swirled in the breeze, a pony trotted gently ahead, and the echoes of tradition stirred something deep in me. In that moment, I wasn’t just watching history—I felt part of it. It was truly sensational. An experience I’ll never forget.

This is delightful.
It reminds me of the marches I watched as a child in Okehampton, in Devon when I was growing up.
I don't know anything about Scotland and the Linlithgow Marches ... but this video gives me a good feel about what it takes to generate a 'good feeling!.
