Ukraine has taken the war deeper into Russian territory, in the 72 hours, than ever before. These are not one-off attacks: This is a strategic decision to take the war to Russia by launching a new offensive for which Russia is wholly unprepared.
- — Two long-range Ukrainian drones hit the VNIIR‑Progress electronic warfare plant in Chuvashia—975 km from the border—halting Kometa antenna production.
- — Another SU shot-down over Kursk, Russia.
- — Ukrainian special forces struck the Savasleyka airfield in Nizhny Novgorod—640 km inside Russia—damaging MiG and Su-class jets.
- — Flights were suspended at three major Moscow airports.
- — Russia launched its largest aerial barrage to date: 479 drones and 20 missiles. Ukraine shot down 460 drones and 19 missiles
.
This is not just defense—it’s strategic warfare that is providing a paradigm shift that will put Russia into an untennable position. Ukraine is defining the terrain and forcing the Kremlin into retreat.
Operation Spiderweb. Cyberattacks. Deep drone corridors. Economic collapse. Jason Jay Smart explains why this moment could reshape the war—and Russia itself.

- the war has entered a new phase and this
- is truly one of the most exciting
- periods thus far in the war because what
- we are seeing transpire is that Ukraine
- has launched a major counter offensive
- or even one could argue offensive but
- it's not the sort that anyone had
- expected it's something totally
- different in the last 48 hours Ukraine
- has taken the war deeper into Russia
- than ever before and it's hitting not
- only militarily sensitive
- targets but targets that if they
- continue to strike the Russian military
- will lose so let's look exactly what's
- going on so on June 9th two longrange
- Ukrainian drones struck the Progress
- electronic warfare plant in Chuvashia
- that's 975 kilometers from the Ukrainian
- border to put them in perspective
- Chuvashia is closer to Kazakhstan than
- to Kiev that facility manufactured Kmeta
- antennas which are a key component for
- shielding Shahed drones and they also do
- the communications jamming for the
- Iskander as well as Kibber missiles that
- 1:00
- strike was a massive success as we know
- because there is photos of it fire broke
- out everywhere and the plant now is
- closed production came to a full stop
- now think about that if these missiles
- or drones can no longer be protected
- from the Ukrainians they no longer have
- the jamming capabilities that means they
- can be shot down more effectively that
- means that Russia's major tool its major
- instrument doesn't function without
- these parts and Ukraine is going after
- the factories that produce parts that it
- knows that Russia cannot get more of
- hence why the other taxs we've seen
- recently have been so important they go
- after things that Russia simply cannot
- replace keep in mind Russia currently is
- dependent on Iran for drone support and
- it's dependent on North Korea for
- artillery support and missile support
- that's how broken Russia is at this
- point that's all they've got so any
- strike like this to the internal
- capacity of Russia their native capacity
- that's huge there's no way they're going
- 2:00
- to be getting it back anytime soon but
- that wasn't the only thing that went on
- today because it was a very exciting day
- the Ukrainian special forces also hit an
- airfield military airfield in Nijni
- Novkared region that's 640 kilometers
- inside of Russia and they damaged at
- least two MiGs and a Suclass jet that
- was used to launch Kenjal hypersonic
- missiles so in parallel to that despite
- those other
- attacks they sent nine drones into
- Moscow's airspace and it grounded
- flights from three of Moscow's major
- airports which are all the major
- airports in Moscow these were not some
- random strikes though and that's the
- important part is that they were
- deliberate they were targeted operations
- and just think about what they hit a
- drone shield factory hypersonic missile
- launch base the symbolic center of
- Russian airspace
- this is no longer a war contained to
- Ukrainian territory ukraine is choosing
- the
- battlefield and Ukraine has decided that
- 3:01
- the war will now be fought inside of
- Russia my name is Jason J smart i'm a
- special correspondent for the KEF post
- and I have spent the last two decades
- studying and working against the Putin
- regime something that got me blacklisted
- by them already 15 years ago and before
- we dive in I ask you just do me one huge
- favor incredibly in the past 3 weeks
- we've almost reached 100,000
- subscribers please help me get the truth
- of what's occurring inside of Russia and
- what the Russians are doing to Ukraine
- to more people by liking and
- subscribing i really appreciate it thank
- you so back to our story what is
- transpiring today is nothing just
- started today this started a few days
- ago this is part of a paradigm shift
- that began with Operation Spiderweb on
- June 1st now you'll recall that
- marvelous day that Ukraine was able to
- successfully strike five Russian bases
- 4:01
- deep within Russia across Russia across
- thousands of
- kilometers and at least 10 bombers were
- destroyed along with radar aircraft and
- other targets now why the aircraft is so
- important as it's been discussed by
- others is that this is vital to Russia's
- deep strike
- capabilities but it also showed
- something else if Russia is unable to
- defend its nuclear defenses part of its
- nuclear
- triad what does that mean how do you
- think the average Russian citizen feels
- do you think they believe that their
- government can protect them when Ukraine
- today is flying its drones into Moscow
- airspace and their government can do
- nothing about it don't you think the
- population realizes that perhaps there's
- something different between what the
- government has promised them or what
- they assure them of versus the reality i
- think at this point it becomes very
- clear for everybody that their military
- which they always said was the second
- greatest in the world is no more than a
- paper
- 5:00
- tiger but what's important about these
- attacks strategically and how we can
- understand them is that it was not a
- reactive strike it was a proactive
- strike ukraine is no longer being
- provoked to respond to Russia ukraine is
- shaping the war and we all recall what
- Sunzu said about that he said the one
- who defines the battlefield before the
- battle begins will be
- victorious and that's exactly what
- Ukraine is doing now it knows that
- Russia is not ready for this russia is
- not counting on this sort of a war
- russia expected a long war of trenches
- and attrition but here's Ukraine now
- striking their airfields hitting their
- electronic warfare hubs they're
- destroying their logistic systems all of
- this deep inside of Russia
- itself that's incredible and Russia is a
- big country this will create strategic
- exhaustion for the
- Russians now Russia's response of course
- to the June 1st attacks was everyone
- 6:01
- expected to be a very large attack even
- Putin communicated that to the US
- president when he spoke to him he said
- that Russia is going to be forced to
- respond and promised a show of force so
- of course many people are worried what
- would that show of force be exactly it
- was very large is in fact the largest
- aerial assault of the war had 479 Shiit
- drones 20 crews and ballistic missiles
- but of that Ukraine shot down 460 of the
- 479 drones ukraine shot down 19 of the
- 20 missiles and actual damage inside of
- Ukraine minimal
- so let's put that in perspective russia
- spent millions of dollars on operation
- that accomplished little to nothing
- ukraine by contrast spent a fraction of
- the amount on drones worth a couple
- hundred bucks several hundred bucks each
- to strategic
- assets general George Patton said that
- never fight a battle when you aren't the
- one to pick the time and the place and
- now it's Ukraine who's choosing both the
- 7:01
- time and the place and Russia is put on
- its back feet to
- react now this is all happening in the
- midst of a different thing which is that
- the Russian economy is bleeding we know
- that the central bank yes is holding the
- emergency interest rates at 20%
- inflation is running about 27% according
- to Steve Hanky at John Hopkins
- University the GDP growth projections
- for 2025 have collapsed to just 1.5%
- that's down from 4.3% last year and
- defense spending is over 40% the entire
- budget that's not sustainable that is a
- regime eating
- itself and that's why Russia can no
- longer hide what's happening people are
- feeling poor and now they're living in
- fear from the explosions that they hear
- in their own
- backyards now before the Kremlin used to
- deny the attacks act like nothing was
- happening but now this point is simply
- impossible to fully ignore the Moscow
- mayor for instance came out with a
- statement earlier today confirming that
- they had to to stop the flights coming
- 8:00
- out of their airports in Moscow due to
- the Ukrainian attacks russian state
- media is forced to confirm that there
- are attacks and that other services for
- instance telecommunications taxis
- banking apps are all experiencing
- disruptions due to the fact that
- Russians are using their anti- drone
- technology which jams everything which
- then forces all the apps on people's
- phones to stop working which means the
- banking apps stop working the taxi apps
- stop working the telecommunication
- services stop working moscow is not a
- little city it's a very big city so when
- you flip that on trust me everybody in
- that city is going to know about it and
- this all also has an economic impact bus
- has a psychological impact nobody can
- deny that there is a war and the war is
- now inside of Russia they see it they
- feel it they experience
- it and that's already a good thing
- because again Putin's regime he cares
- about really just one thing which is his
- survivability what happens to Vladimir
- 9:01
- Putin is Vladimir Putin's top priority
- now it's a different question as to
- whether or not he realizes how bad the
- situation is but neither here or there
- once he comes to realize that his regime
- is threatened or that things are going
- on that they cannot control for that
- puts the entire regime into an untenable
- situation and this is where things get
- very dicey for the future of his regime
- because it's not just about some sort of
- democratic uprising as I've said many
- times it's that if you're an oligarch or
- a military leader or intelligence leader
- and you realize hm Putin is weak or he's
- disconnected from reality or look the
- situation's totally in chaos here's my
- moment to take power because I can be
- the new Putin when you look at the
- history of
- dictatorships that is not uncommon that
- is common so overall what else do we see
- going on inside of Russia we see their
- authorities are scared now other
- authorities in at least two regions of
- Russia have made threats they'll jail
- anyone who posts on social media
- information about drone strikes or
- 10:00
- footage of them and they're doing this
- not because they are controlling the
- situation it's because they're scared
- they're full of fear they have no idea
- what to do how do you justify that the
- great Russian army cannot protect the
- capital from Ukraine's cheap
- drones after spending more than three
- years trying to occupy Ukraine having a
- million men killed or injured about a
- quarter of it was killed they're still
- fighting to get a territory this smaller
- than Los Angeles County California and
- so the state can continue to tell people
- that nothing's going on everything's
- fine everything's under control but they
- could smell the smoke they could see the
- explosions they can hear the drones
- buzzing overhead and that's where
- psychological warfare becomes really
- interesting because at this point you
- can't deny the truth you can try to
- manage it but people see it and they see
- inconsistency between the lies the
- government tells them and what their own
- two eyes tell them and at some point
- there's more and more people checking
- 11:00
- out of the system believing the lies
- they hear on Russian
- TV and that's why Ukraine's attacks are
- more about just launching drones
- ultimately it's pressure campaigns and
- it's not just with the drones it's also
- the cyber attacks listen they've hit the
- Russian railways they've disrupted
- military mobilization they've struck the
- electronic warfare production facilities
- they've they've struck so deep inside of
- Russia now the Russia has absolutely no
- idea what to do and what do you do if
- your facility is 600 800 975 kilometers
- into their territory being struck russia
- has a huge lack of air defense
- and of course if Putin has a choice of
- more air defense around his house his
- mansion his palace or more for the
- Russian military facility which one do
- you think's a bureaucrat's going to
- choose is more important if something
- bad happens to Putin or almost bad
- happens to Putin you're going to be in a
- bad way so of course your priority is
- sending all the air defense near to
- 12:00
- Putin and some of it's going to go to
- the front but protecting facilities
- within Russia Russia doesn't have the
- facil the capacity to produce enough air
- defense at this point it cannot protect
- within its own country and this is where
- Russia is being stretched really
- threatened and this is exactly what the
- Ukrainians count on that's why by the
- way the brilliant move by the Ukrainians
- last year to move into Kursk Russia as
- well as uh Bulgar Russia was so
- important it destabilized the Russians
- they were totally prepared for one thing
- which is to occupy Ukraine but now how
- do you get the Ukrainians out of Russia
- and they still
- haven't putin set a hard deadline of
- more than nine months ago to expel the
- Ukrainians and they're still there that
- shows you how unprepared Russia is to
- defend its own
- land and it's not just about the number
- of soldiers they
- lack they don't have enough
- communications technology to communicate
- across a huge territory with all their
- military they don't have enough uh
- capacity to to to send what is necessary
- 13:03
- logistics to send things around the
- country as they need to at this point
- because the logistic structures within
- Russia are being attacked by Ukraine and
- it's something that's going to continue
- it's not going to stop ukraine is just
- going to continue striking logistics to
- do striking Russian bases keep hitting
- hard within
- Russia to show the Russians that they
- have to pull troops out of Ukraine pull
- more of their technology out of Ukraine
- to be able to protect their own
- land so this war is no longer on the
- border not in the eyes of Russia not in
- the eyes of their military this is not
- even inside of Ukraine this is not Kursk
- Russia which is the border no this is
- now a war inside of
- Russia and Russian citizens know that
- and it's not just that they hear the
- drones overhead they also now are seeing
- empty supermarket
- shelves they're sitting in silent
- grounded airport terminals they're being
- 14:00
- told not to post anything on social
- media but the more that the state tries
- to cover it up the more the state loses
- legitimacy it's ultimately that empires
- or dictatorships don't fall in the
- silence it's that they fall in the
- contradiction it's that people no longer
- believe what they're being told
- so at this stage you should definitely
- expect more strikes you're definitely
- going to see more because what we saw is
- not a one-off shift ukraine is attacking
- not just military targets but the entire
- logic the entire strategic system of
- this war and they will lower Russian
- military
- resolve they will create fear in the
- Russian general population and there
- will certainly be panic in the Kremlin
- elites because there's a cognitive
- dissonance for all
- this ukraine is no longer just reacting
- to Putin's war it is defining the
- terrain and it's forcing Russia to fight
- on its own turf and it's exposed all of
- 15:00
- Russia's economic psychological and
- military limits and every time that
- Russia is forced to confirm that
- something has gone wrong that something
- has blown up in their country that they
- could not
- stop it's a good sign it shows that
- Ukraine saw and took the
- initiative ukraine undoubtedly at this
- stage is winning the
- initiative if this analysis was able to
- help you or help clarify the situation
