The election of Donald Trump to the US Presidency in 2020 was bad enough ... but doing it again in 2024 was utter madness.
My early reaction to the 2024 election results was that it reflected very badly on the voting public in the United States ... people who are stupid enough to have been conned by Trump to vote for him.
I have been surprised at how different this Trump administration is compared to the first Trump term.
The Second Trump administration is not better ... but far more dangerous.
Already, Trump II has done more damage to the USA in the first 4 months of this term than he did in the 4 years of his first term ... and the real damage is still to come.
So far a meaningful US opposition to Trump has not come together. This needs to emerge ... and quickly.
Internationally, there is a lot of opposition to Trump. A long pent-up international anger towards the United States has been released and is driving global reorganization that many countries are welcoming.
A reorganization of Canada's priorities is happening and will cost the United States dearly unless the US gets serious about damage control. So far, Trump seems incapable of anything except doubling down on his international stupidity.
Trump is not being helped any by Vice President Vance. The same goes for most of the top people who are now in the Trump administration including Secretary of State Rubio and Deceretary of Defense Hegseth.
