At his core, Trump is evil.
Sadly this appeals to a large number of Americans
When I first visited North America in 1960 when I was just 20 years old, I becamse friendly with Canadians and Americans of my own age. When we compared out respective progress in education, it turned out that my British education was a year ahead of the Canadians and the Canadians were a year ahead of the Americans.
That explains a lot!
Hoever, when it came to family wealth and income, the ranking was different. Americans were at the top, then Canadians and the British way down at the bottom.
When I returned to the UK, I kept on with my education so that I became not only a double major Cambridge graduate, but also a professionally trained Chartered Accountant.
Though I was able to earn about twice the normal salary for my age group, it was still about 1/6th of a Canadian salary equivalent ... and soon after I got married, we migrated to Canada.
We chose to settle in Vancouver crossing Canada from Montreal by train ... Canadian National! A wonderful trip!
I was recruited into a major Canadian consulting firm my very first full day in Vancouver, literally while I was still processing the paperwork at the Vancouver immigration office! At this point I was now earning more than 6 times what I could have earned in the UK! Of course, cost of living was higher in Canada ... but I was still way ahead.
How things have changed!
