Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has resigned and left the country following big anti-government protests that led to hundreds of deaths.
Reports said that Hasina and her sister were seen leaving the country by an army helicopter to a secure place. It is thought that the PM was flown to India.
Some 90 persons were reported killed on Sunday during protests and riots between Police and demonstrators, with the protests’ victims now amounting to over 300.
Protests started in July following calls for the removal of the quota on persons who can work in the civil service.
