to tank their economy and in the process tanking ours because we're in a trade war with our three biggest trading partners which with all of the might of the United States still is going to hurt a lot is not the path to making them the 50 state because there is no path and he's incorrect he's incorrect we we've benefited a lot from certain industries 10:01 that we just don't have as robust of a supply chain on in countries where they have specialized in a particular industry a particular product while sometimes we do for whatever reason want to implement certain targeted economic approaches like tariffs to bring certain Supply chains back because there's there's gaps or there's industries that need that support that's different than we don't think we should import anything which is kind of what he's proposing with such a economic approach and just the fundamental fact is we don't even have the workforce to produce all of the things that are purchased by the country and number two if we did everything would be so exorbitantly more expensive because we wouldn't get to take 11:01 advantage of the specialized efficiency in certain countries and Industry just like how we have certain industries in our country that are more robust and thus get purchased from and then he talks about energy he's all about energy costs coming down I can tell you going after the country that's our number one oil importer is Canada so we're importing more than any from any other country the most amount of oil from Canada and then Mexico overall is our number one trading partner they could do a lot of economic damage and why we oh if we if we were trying to stop uh I don't know a humanitarian violation or if we were in a clash that was leading to war or or I'm trying to imagine other scenar scarios and we and we have to undergo 12:01 the economic pain to punish these other countries okay but that's not the dynamic between Canada and Mexico and us and if it really is I want to make Canada going to see a weakening of our economic strength because of the actions he's he's taking a little bit of economic research the tax Foundation saying that president Trump's tariffs would shrink economic output by 0 4% and this is initial estimates based off of Just Trump's proposal but then Trump is saying he's going to scale up his tariffs if other countries respond which they're responding so the ceiling can go up and up and up increase taxes by $1.2 trillion between 2025 and 2034 on a conventional basis amounting to an average tax increase of more than $830 per us household so if that's our starting point and then we see response 14:01 response response we're looking at something catastrophic so much so that hedge funds are making unprecedented multi-billion dollar bets against the US Stock Market signaling expectations of a devastating crash that could wreak havoc on retirement savings Across America Trump is causing people to literally bet against America economics so the guy who got elected to bring cost down is spiking prices saying that Americans will understand because it's due time that we punish Canada for being so nice to us this is scary it's crisis I'll
