A few years ago ... maybe in the period 2015 to 2020 the media industry went through some restructuring and a lot of good journalists were fired. Many of the journalists that were retained were relatively junior and 'compliant'. The quality of the reporting took a 'hit' ... and has not recovered since that time. I mean she's flush and that shows a lot of excitement I mean you know at Lincoln project we say it's the small dollar owners that really go the furthest because it tells it it's that is an indication of voting right that is an indication of support when somebody is doesn't have maybe middle class doesn't have you know a whole lot of disposable income and they're giving you $25 $30 that's a sign of support and most of her money is coming from small dollar donors sure she has many many many large donors but a lot of them are coming from small dollar donors and small dollar donors is an indication of support it's an indication of where their voting 1:01 behavior and it's very exciting to see I don't know I think the last time the Democrats heard this flush was Obama you have a con man and you know at Lincoln project we are constantly saying it's so funny that there are people on the right who say they want Trump because they want him to run the country like he'd run a business he is the only businessman I've ever known who could run a casino into the ground you know this man has failed at almost every single business he's ever had he has had to be bailed out by the federal government before because he was too big to fail in the 90s when he was failing you know it's not surprising this is a man who's looking out for himself and he's trying to keep himself out of The 1:38 Slammer and next week we're going to see 1:40 the sentencing on you know one of his 1:43 many many many trials that that are has 1:46 come up Trump is still raising money I mean he's still conning his people with his nfts and you know his shoes and all of the crazy things that he's trying to sell I mean I think this week it was a a 2:00 coffee table book and and so he's still trying to to raise money that way do I think that this would will affect his campaign well yeah I mean like I said most people when they're running for office they're running for office they're not running from the law and so he is currently you know having to spend an absorbent amount of money on his legal fees on top of that he owes a lot of money to the states where he has gone and to the swing states where he was in the primary and he never paid his bills I mean he's notorious for not paying his bills so I mean as that happens you know do I think that he he has advanced at all do I think that he his strategy is is worth having no I don't I don't think his brain is in that game I think he is right now just trying to stay out of prison and raise enough money to make sure that he has enough to fight his legal battles so what we're seeing a lot of places right now is kamla taking a lead but I I want to stress this because I think this is very very important to 3:01 say in 2016 Hillary was beating Trump too and everyone was very very excited and it was considered a sure thing and she was going to be in the White House and so there was voter apathy and there were people who were like well if I don't have to hold my nose and vote I'm not going to I don't I don't need to do this and we all woke up the day after the election to a trump presidency and so it's very very important when we're talking about how she's moving people these are very very very small numbers they're within the margin of error in most polls and that's what's really difficult about this cycle is you can't rely on the polls because whoever wins is going to win within that margin of error so what you have to do is watch the trend lines she's trending very well across the country right now but again Trends and polls are not votes and so it's very very important that anyone who listens to this in the United States understands we need them to show up we need them to do everything that they can to get their friends their allies their 4:01 family members anyone in their lives to show up because it's going to be that close in this country so campaign funds are used I mean American campaigns are are multi multi hundreds of millions if not billions of dollars industry like that it is big big business and I mean that money goes to pay for ads I mean ads are about 18 to $20,000 to produce if you don't have actors you know and then you have to put those adds up and in the swing States those those media markets are really really expensive to buy into so a lot of the money goes to messaging a lot of the money goes to pay the Consultants who are who are helping with the strategy and to pay the staff who are out there you know door knocking and making sure that the Grassroots campaigns in the states are going really well so the they're big money but they're also you know they're expensive to run because you're trying to run across the entire United States and you need to be active in 50 states and in in 5:01 territories like Puerto Rico I mean I think the last time we spoke we were talking about down ballot races and the RNC versus the DNC in this in this realm and I would say that you know the Republican party is right now being run by Trump's daughter-in-law and that is hurting the party because any donations that are going to the party are actually going to go to Trump as the head of the party and his is in his campaign and his needs and his desires we've never really seen anything like this before like people don't typically use their campaign funds to pay for their legal bills and his campaign is not paying his legal bills but the super packs that support him are doing that and that includes you know the RNC so yes I mean I I think this continues to you're going to continue to see money mismanaged by the Trump campaign it's a mafia organization I mean you know they're they're making sure that that they that they are being paid that they 6:02 are getting what they need out and making sure that their legal bills are paid they don't care about the Republican party they never have cared about the Republican party this has always been about Trump and his kids and making sure that their empire increases very much the way that Putin did in Russia with the oligarchs I mean he's wanting to enrich his allies and that's all you're seeing oh this made major news because they are the Battleground States and they are places that he needs to go into to those Battleground States the rural areas are more his base and he can't fly into those airports he can't come into the cities until he pays his debt so that is hurting his campaigning and I mean you know you're seeing kamla and Tim Walls out like crazy I mean they are they are I don't know how they sleep they are in so many states and doing so many campaign stops and Trump is spending you know five days a week playing golf um because he can't go into those swing states he can't campaign there and he is relying on his base to 7:00 show up and the scary thing is he's relying on the same stuff that he relied on in in 2020 you know he is not he is not worried about winning he's worried about having the infrastructure behind the election to to influence the election on the other side to be able to steal it in states where you know he the delegates don't necessarily have to vote the way the voters voted or you know the um the any vote can be questioned and I mean what he's wanting to do is cast doubt in the proc process and then potentially I mean we we saw this playbook in 2020 there will be a lot of violence after the election there will be a lot because I believe that kamla will win this she will at least definitely have the popular vote um you're going to see you know Maga act out at his hands at at Donald Trump's hands the same way we did when um we saw January 6th happen you know they are going to be angry and they're convinced that you know that these elections aren't Fair and that you know everyone 8:01 they know voted for Trump well of course everyone they know voted for Trump they're hanging out with the like-minded people so I mean it's it's going to be the on the other side of the election is going to be a lot scarier than this side of the election and it's because he's not counting on winning this outright he's counting on being able to steal it on the back end I think one it could be trauma and it could be PTSD I mean I think anybody who's ever come that close to death is going to be shook by it right right so I mean I think that that could be part of it but you're also not dealing with a normal person and you're dealing with a a narcissist maligant narcissist and I mean you know he could also be watching this going well look I escaped death and if I can escape death then I can escape all of the legal woses that are ahead of me right now if I escaped death then I must be some sort of God if I escaped death then the things that the Evangelical community may feel about me you know being the second coming maybe that's true so I mean it's you can never read Donald Donal Trump but the fact that he 9:00 continues to watch it over and over and over again I don't necessarily see as a sign of trauma other I see it as a sign of him trying to Rally himself up against this bohemuth of a of a Harris walls campaign that is coming for him and you know next week we have the debate probably the only debate we will have in the presidential this year and it's going to be very interesting to see how he handles that on stage given the fact that he is a little shaken right now now and KLA is not she is she has hit her stride and she she is right in her element well I will tell you I mean for years Trump has more leaks than a Civ you know there are we have people inside the Trump campaign you know I think Harris probably has people inside the Trump campaign I mean everybody is leaking this information I think it came out this past week um that even Republicans were kind of secretly pulling against Donald Trump because they want some sort of normaly back and so I mean that's real and there there 10:01 are a whole lot of issues in there because there look rats are going to jump off a sinking ship you know and the people who are in that ship right now and are trying to make people on the outside aware of what's going on they're not Heroes they're still slime balls too I mean they're part of the Trump you know machine but what they're doing is they are leaking information and in and in some ways you know it is while it's it's not necessarily what you want to see in a campaign I can tell you Lincoln Project's very grateful to know what's going on in that that man's head on The Daily
