Joe Biden described the State of the Union ... and the World ... brilliantly last Thursday in his State of the Union speach in Washington. I was impressed and gave him a 12 out of 10 grade! Not bad for someone the Republicans like to put down as old and doddery!
Joe Biden gave an excellent speach. The Democrats in the audience appreciated what the President said. The Republicans, not so much. And the same probably went for most of the members of the Supreme Court who were challenged ... quite reasonably in my view ... for their positions on a variety of important issues.
The enthusiasm of the Democrats in the House Chamber was palpable ... in stark contrast to the Republicans who stayed 'sitting on their hands!' throughout the 80 minute speach. The Republican Speaker remained sitting all the time except for right at the beginning when Biden entered the Chamber and once, perhaps twice during the presentation. In contrast, VP Kamala Harris stood up a lot ... maybe a 100 times!
Biden is famous ... or infamous ... for his 'mis-speaks', but in this 80 minute speach there was but one which he acknowledged at an event next day. It was in connection with the killing of an American citizen by a migrant who had been recently released into the USA. On the positive side, Biden administration has tried to do constructive things but the games the Republicans are playing makes good progress unlikely and maybe impossible as long as they have any political power whatsoever!

The following day President Joe Biden and Dr. Jill Biden visited Pennsylvania.
Jill Biden spoke first and landed a series of great points about what Trump is all about in contrast to what President Biden is aiming to do.

The President was not as fiery as Jill Biden, but very very solid ... and all about the good possibilities of people. Typical of Joe Biden ... and frankly the way he has run his life!
The Republican response to the State of the Union did the Republicans no favors
The opposition party's response to the State of the Union speach by the President is a very difficult assignment, but the response that was given by one of the Republican Senators from Alabama was remarkably poor. I understand the need for 'talking pionts' in political presentations, but this went too far ... by a mile.
