This is an intersting interview and very thought provoking.
I spent most of my life with a very optimistic outlook, and in many ways this served me well. But it also made me somewhat blind to a dark reality. There are a relatively small group of immensely bad actors many of whom have achieved unbelievable levels of power and influence.
I should have recognised this reality a long time ago, but did not. There were many times in my career that I had the opportunity to learn, but I avoided this interpretation of events for one that was a lot more benign, but also probably a lot more wrong!
Looking back, it has become relatively easy to see a pattern ... and it is not at all comforting.
The phrase 'Going to Hell in a Handbasket' seems to be a fitting phrase! There is something very wrong with the world when Putin and Trump have their hands on the levers of power!
