The Russian defense was very tightly built at the beginning of the war.
The Russians had built a dense three-tiered defense line. Clearing the first Russian defense line was a very tiring and difficult process. This line was the largest part of the defense. Every square meter was full of mines and vulnerable to long-range artillery attacks.
Our Ukrainian fighters fought tirelessly against the enemy day and night to break through these defenses.
On top of all this, the counterattacks that Ukrainian fighters had been working on for a long time finally began to take effect.
Immediately after the liberation of Robotyne, Ukrainian fighters formed offensive groups in the directions of Tokmak and Melitopol.
In the end, the first and most fortified defense line of the Russian Federation in Zaporizhia was broken. They managed to open a large offensive pocket towards Tokmak, one of the most important points of the Russian land corridor.
At the same time, the Ukrainian army widened the breaches in the main Russian defense layer in the South.
There are no heavy vehicles of the Ukrainian Armed Forces here yet.
Presumably, Ukrainian forces plan to hold these positions.
Having changed tactics in the first weeks of the counteroffensive, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are advancing without tanks.
And already in three places the Ukrainian Armed Forces have overcome the so-called dragon's teeth.
Conducting operations in the vicinity of Tokmak, Orikhiv and Verbove, Ukrainian fighters gradually broke the enemy.
In some places the Ukrainian Armed Forces crossed the first positions of the so-called Surovikin Line.
After crossing the line, Ukrainian fighters built barriers here.
Hundreds of Ukrainian soldiers are stationed between and behind the barriers.
The enemy soldier opened heavy fire on the Ukrainian fighters as if to avenge their losses.
But it is too late for the enemy's victory here.
The Ukrainian fighters responded to the Russian attacks and the enemy disappeared in one round.
After that, the survivors of the enemy army fled without looking back.
One of the most important goals of the Ukrainian fighters here is to cross the Surovikin Line with heavy equipment.
When that happens, Putin will face a huge problem.
Ukrainian forces are advancing towards the wooded positions east of the Russian anti-tank ditches and the dragon's tooth obstacles that are part of the three-layer defense just west of Verbove.
At the same time, Ukrainian fighters, light infantry, also advanced northwest towards a series of prepared Russian defensive positions along the road leading to Verbove.
Also, the Ukrainian Armed Forces approached the Russian defenses between Robotyne and Novoprokopivka.
Again, as we know, the divide-and-divide technique, which Ukrainian fighters often use, was used a lot in and around Robotyne. and they put the Russians in a three-way triplecross blockade.
The Russians were trapped in this area from the east, west and rear lines.
As we can see, Ukrainian fighters are discovering and capturing Russian defenses one by one.
Experts say Ukrainian forces have widened the breach they had already made in one of Russia's defense layers.
This was evident from the crossing of the gears.
At the same time, experts reportedly maneuvered more equipment and personnel into the tactical rear areas of this layer.
Analysts note that the Armed Forces of Ukraine began to use infantry more actively in this direction.
Ukrainian forces appear to be making gains with infantry attacks and heavy artillery fire on Russian positions stretching from northwest of Verbove to north of Solodka Balka.
It took more than 2 months for the Ukrainian Armed Forces to break through minefields under shelling and close in on Robotyne, where the Russian army had a large fortified area.
A few days after Robotyne was liberated, the Ukrainian army advanced towards Russian positions on the western outskirts of Verbove.
In the last 24 hours, the area controlled by Ukraine near Verbove has increased by 5.37 square kilometers.
The Surovikin Line runs exactly between Robotyne and this settlement.
Therefore, crossing the Surovikin Line is vital for Ukrainian fighters.
For the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the strategic objective of this operation is access to the Sea of Azov and the cutting of the Russian army's land corridor to Crimea.
The breach of this line and the further advance of the Ukrainian fighters is a strategic success for the counter-offensive in the South.
ISW analyst George Barros noted that the Ukrainian Armed Forces will probably create the conditions for a serious breakthrough near Verbove.
The tactically excellent achievements of the Ukrainian fighters have exposed the Russian vulnerability.
