Peter Burgess COMMENTARY
Based on some of the information that is circulating, I am hopeful that the Ukrainian military will be able to push back the Russians to behind their pre-2014 borders over the next few months.

The problem is that I am not at all sure that the various reporters are well informed. The fog of war is a reality even though there are many more information flows than in decades past, but are these flows based on reality or are they dangerous misinformation and propaganda?

It seems that some of the military technology that has emerged in the last few years is substantially more lethal than what was available in years past, and it appears that the Ukrainian military are better trained than one might have anticipated (mainly because of my ignorance more than anything else). While the various NATO nations have been slower than one might have hoped in getting munitions to Ukraine, a substantial amount of support has now been delivered, and more seems to be on the way. The concern I have is that NATO and expecially the US political leadership and voting public will lose interest in the war in Ukraine and constrain USA material support that is vital for Ukraine to win. This is an election year ... but so far public support for Ukraine remains high. Sadly that could change quite quickly which is a worry.
