I have followed the development of military equipment at a distance since the end of WWII ... but my single biggest takeaway from what I have been learning over the past three months is how much 'smart' munitions together with pretty intelligent autonomous drones can change the battlefield.
The sheer scale of Russia's military should give them a big advantage over Ukraine ... but 50 year old Soviet era equipment is not going to be of great value if Ukraine can be supplied with modern smart munitions. This is not going as fast as the Ukrainians would like, and hopefully this will get rectified sooner rather than later.
