Bill Browder was very clear that Putin is evil and must go. Fiona Hill is much more diplomatic, but still quite clear that Putin has evil intent.
Both of these people have massive expertise. Bill Browder's clarity is refreshing and I think what he has to say is well worth listening to. My conclusion is that Vladimir Putin has no business being in a position of power anywhere in the world. Part of my feeling about this is a function of my own international experience where evil people have risen to the top of their countries and then behave badly to keep themselves in power. Ordinary people are held hostage by these rulers and they can do little about it. Worse ... the free world does a lot of talking but has allowed this abysmal behavior for most of my adult life-time ... that is about 60 years !!!!!!!!
Fiona Hill is more diplomatic ... but she is also pretty clear that Putin cannot be allowed to behave as a bully without consequences. I am old enough to know something about the Nuremburg trials after WWII, and there is no question in my mind that there has to be serious accountability for the horrors of war for which Putin has responsibility.
