pass the damn bills Inbox Public Citizen robert@citizen.org via salsalabs.org 3:33 PM (17 hours ago) to me Almost every Democrat in Congress is ready to pass *both* the $1.2 trillion bipartisan infrastructure bill and President Biden’s $1.75 trillion Build Back Better package. In fact, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi wants to hold a vote TODAY. But a handful of “Blue Dog” (a.k.a. corporate) Democrats — Ed Case (Hawaii), Jared Golden (Maine), Josh Gottheimer (New Jersey), Stephanie Murphy (Florida), and Kurt Schrader (Oregon) — are preventing their own party from passing these historic investments in our nation’s wellbeing. There’s been more than enough negotiation. It’s time to pass both of these bills and show the American people that the federal government can work to make all of our lives better. Tell so-called “moderate” Democrats: Please stop getting in the way of your own party’s efforts to rebuild our nation’s crumbling infrastructure, confront climate change, and provide the substantive help working people need. Commit NOW to voting for *both* the bipartisan infrastructure bill and President Biden’s Build Back Better legislation. Add your name. Thanks for taking action.
