Earles Sidings to Drax Power Station 123,175 viewsPremiered Apr 17, 2021 Don Coffey 30.5K subscribers Join us on this trip from Earles Sidings in Derbyshire to Drax Power Station in North Yorkshire (yes it really is classed as North Yorkshire!). We take a 66/6 and 22 empty tanks to Drax to collect a load of Flyash for use back at Hope Cement Works. The trip takes us through Sheffield, Doncaster and takes in lines little used for passenger trains. There is sensational countryside and you’ll be amazed at the cooling towers at Drax as we pull up to them. Thanks to Freightliner Heavy Haul for sharing this footage. Addendum No excuse for me citing Hope Station as Edale! Sheffield Victoria is of course on the old Woodhead route. We passed through the site of Attercliffe Road Station just after the aptly named Attercliffe Viaduct! |
