New Society Initiative

New Society Initiative participated in a series of talks hosted by The School of Business at Medgar Evers College and ENS Global on Social Enterprise on the UN Global Citizenship Agenda for Sustainable Development in March. Our objective was to bring light to social enterprise opportunities with a focus on empowering women to become agents of change. We explored how social enterprises can bring impact to society from within social enterprise institutions and as an active citizen. NSI shared the work that we are doing to support the UN Global Citizenship Agenda for Sustainable Development.

We would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Javalquinto for making this opportunity possible. Dr. Bernardo Javalquinto is an economist and a recent recipient of the prestigious Vatican-sponsored Premio Internazionale Giuseppe Sciacca in the field of economics, for promoting poverty alleviation, climate change, youth employment, gender equality, peace and social justice. Dr. Bernardo Javalquinto is Chairman, ENS Global (Escuela De Negocios Sociales) and works closely with Mohammad Yunus – Nobel Peace prize recipient.

On Jun 11, Eddie Garcia said the following:Peter, Sounds like a plan and I look forward to seeing you again soon! Eddie June 20, 2016
Peter, It was really nice to see you and I hope that we can keep in touch. Perchance, would you be interested in joining the advisory board of NewSocietyInitiative.org? We are a grassroots effort advocating for a sustainable global community. I think your take on True Value Metrics would add value to the conversation. ~ Eddie Garcia

Dear Eddie ... yes it was good to see you at the MEC event a couple of weeks back. As I think you have learned from me, I am rather single minded about the problem of powerful metrics that enables a dangerously dysfunctional global society that is ignoring a range of existential risks that are growing at a faster and faster pace. I have to be careful in budgeting my rather limited money, energy and time ... but within this I would welcome the chance to work with your New Society Initiative. How might I help? Peter
