Developing a film about Misappropriation of funding in Haiti.

Hello.

My name is Marissa Mireles, it is a pleasure to speak with you. I am currently searching for people on this network who have ties in Haiti.

I am in the research and development phase of a documentary on the misappropriation of funding in Haiti in regards the funding which has been put in place to help the children living as restavek, with a focus on the NGO's (MINUSTAH, UN, Restavek Freedom, Helping Haitian Angels, etc..) who have been created to end this issue.

I would like to speak with anyone who has in-depth knowledge on this issue or of anything pertaining to this issue. I have a proposal for my film and more information for who I am and what I am doing and why, if you would like to know.

I am within the first four years of working within the filmmaking/peace building workforce yet I am still determined to make further headway by creating my own projects.

I have worked mostly as a production assistant for other's work (among much more available on my resume) and I have recently, within the last year, created my own films. I am currently working on a documentary about homelessness in Dale City, Virginia and its relationship with the local/national government. I am in production currently, but some raw footage used with a smart phone may be seen on tentcitydocumentary.tumblr.com.

It is my hope that with my governmental ties and relationship with PCDN (Peace and Collaborative Development Network) that I will be able to make local change to create affordable housing for the residents of Dale City of whom live in the forests.

I am applying for a grant so I may continue making documentaries and in time, hopefully create legislative change within international communities as well as local ones.
