He is an advisor to several startups as well as an active board member. He has over 30 years of IT experience including 20 years in leadership positions. He is experienced at building dynamic IT organizations in rapid growth environments and identifying and introducing new technologies to improve business effectiveness and efficiency. Steve was selected CIO of the Year (2010) by the New Jersey Technology Council. Steve is currently CEO and Founder of YakStack LLC, a start-up based in New Jersey. YakStack is an innovative mobile and web service for individuals, businesses and other organizations to send broadcast phone calls and text messages to groups of people. The unique opt-in model provides for the privacy of the recipient. Previously, Steve was VP of Global Information Technology for Celgene Corporation. During his dozen years as the corporate IT leader, Celgene grew from 100 employees and essentially no revenue to over 4,000 employees in over 70 countries with revenue of $4.5 billion and a market cap of $30 billion. He essentially built a startup IT organization from scratch within an early stage company. Prior to joining Celgene, Steve consulted in a variety of industries including warehousing/logistics, clinical research, software/technology, telecommunications and direct mail. He built an IT organization as IT Director at Enzon Pharmaceuticals. He started his career with Bell Laboratories and Bell Communications Research. Steve sits on the boards of JumpStart NJ Angel Network and GoNow Technologies and is a past board member of the New Jersey Technology Council and co-chair of the NJTC CIO Advisory Board. He holds a B.S. in Industrial Economics and an M.S. in Computer Science, earning both in 4 years from Union College, N.Y. He and his wife live in New Jersey and have two children.
