My strategy work is generally with large corporations on their key environmental and social responsibility challenges. I am much engaged with sustainable agriculture, global commodities, protecting ecosystem services and managing footprints. SEC does a lot of work around global supply chains, commodities and their sustainability. Adding value through innovation around product development, specification, procurement, and controlling product claims. We create policy and compliance systems, support risk management, footprint consumption, ensure security of supply and support the use of third party certification to demonstrate provenance. We support the integration of management and product information systems through to non-financial reporting, stakeholder engagement and communications management. Sector wise I have extensive sector experience in B2B, retailing, manufacturing, civil society, finance, multi-stakeholder processes and the commodity processing industries. Currently also Technical Advisor to the Carbon Disclosure Project supporting its Forest Commodities Project, Strategy Director for the new resources NGO G2RP (www.g2rp.org) and a member of the Steering Committee of the Natural Value Initiative. Co-author of ‘Strategy for Sustainable Business’ (McGraw Hill 1995) I taught part-time on the innovative Brunel University, Environmental Management Masters from 1993-99, training managers in Corporate Environmental Strategy, Environmental Marketing and Sustainability. I am a qualified Environmental Auditor. Prior to being a CSR consultant, my earlier career was in marketing and communications, experience I now bring to connecting my clients’ strategy to their wider business, brand, product positioning or corporate communications agendas.
