Summary

I have been on a long, expensive and sometimes lonely journey. I have made a significant investment of my time and resources so Ontario communities can be in control of their of local electricity generation opportunities. Now I need your help!

Our mission is to give Ontario communities the tools they need to participate in renewable energy in a way that profits will be invested back into communities. Please contact me to get involved.

We recruit Directors and voting members to help found these organizations. Please donate time or funds.

We provide the expertise needed to assess clean energy opportunities, engage communities and develop electricity generation opportunities for community benefit.

We are coordinating an initiative to develop a province wide network of large scale community enterprises in the electricity sector.

We have created THE Alternative Energy Model for generating clean energy on crown land. Without this Ontario may lose tens of billions to commercial developers and absentee investors.

Sir Adam Beck, the founder of Ontario’s electric power system, pursued a vision in 1906. “Power at cost” was his appeal. He had to ask permission from the public to use public revenues to accomplish the task. Beck also stated that “The gifts of nature are for the public”. 100 years later I started building on this vision after governments lost their way in the energy file.

I develop Community Enterprise using a Co-op structure (a group of people with a common interest who get together to build a business that meets their needs and provides member benefits).

In Ontario, communities can enjoy significant socio-economic benefits by developing renewable energy projects and selling electricity through the provincial power authority at a fixed price. Surplus revenues from energy sales are then used to enhance the betterment of the community. This activity is commonly referred to as Community Power.

Dear Jeff

I love what you are doing as described in your profile summary. I am now located in the Poconos of Pennsylvania with frequent travel to New York City, but not much further ... being of practical help is not something that I am able to do.

One the other hand, I am active with renewables in our area ... New York State, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. It would be interesting to see what elements of your initiatives have relevance here.
