WATCH: What Income Inequality? Stewart Slams GOP for Whining that the Rich are Unfairly Demonized “They don’t like the fact the rich are being demonized especially given how compassionate they are to the disgusting poor,” mocked Stewart. On last night's The Daily Show, Jon Stewart weighed in on the income equality divide in this country, particularly the fact that conservatives are supporting the end of long-term unemployment benefits. “Income equality. The left thinks it’s unfair because of systemic disadvantages built in for the less affluent. The rich think it’s unfair because apparently those disadvantages aren’t systemic enough. Stewart expressed his disdain at the right’s so-called “solutions” following the decision not to extend long-term employment benefits. He rolled a clip of Republican Sen. Mitch McConnell’s suggestion to fix income inequality: eliminate health care subsidies for the poor. “What a great deal,” Stewart remarked. “I would happily extend your unemployment benefits for the mere of cost your healthcare. It’s like a wonderful ‘Oh Henry’s’ story without the ironic twist ending – ‘Look honey, I sold all our food to get you that doctors appointment. I stopped treating my cancer to get you this banana,” he said. Watch Stewart annihilate the conservatives:
