He currently directs ResultsinHealth (previously Consultants for Health and Development), a public health advisory agency in The Netherlands. Ss part of his responsibilities, Hilbrand leads a team that provides procurement and supply management (PSM) expert services to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (GFATM) since 2003, through a collaborative agreement with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC). PSM expert services are provided in all countries where PWC is GFATM’s Local Fund Agent (LFA), currently close to 70 countries worldwide. ResultsinHealth works with a varied team of experts living in countries around the world and mastering a variety of languages. In addition, Hilbrand leads ResultsinHealth Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health unit. Hilbrand's experience includes strategic planning, management, support, evaluation and training. With a special interest in applying research-based lessons, his true passion is in improving the efficiency in international development support. Over the past 20 years Hilbrand gained extensive experience in all issues related to medicines access. He worked on all components of the pharmaceutical management cycle, especially in medicines selection, quantification of needs, procurement, supply chain strengthening, and on improving the use of medicines. Hilbrand regularly teaches at universities, Masters’ courses and diploma courses on public health in developing countries. His practical experiences are central in these trainings. A variety of articles were written by him in English, Dutch, Spanish and Portuguese and published in local and international journals.
