First written by FSG's John Kania and Mark Kramer in the Stanford Social Innovation Review's Winter 2011 issue, collective impact is a rigorous approach to solving social problems where organizations — including those in government, civil society, and the business sector — coordinate their efforts around a clearly defined goal. FSG has created a short video series to illustrate the concept of collective impact. The series includes an explanation of collective impact, and demonstrates the conditions of collective impact using examples from The Elizabeth River Project and The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN).
