Job Description The Energy Efficiency Regional Manager will report directly to the Regional Director. The focus of this position will be to manage the growth of Energy Efficiency services in the relevant region. This role bridges both sales and operations, and involves the management of this region. Both operationally and in sales, the Regional Manager will work with both the Director of Efficiency Operations and the Regional Director to integrate energy efficiency into SolarCity’s service offering. This will involve creating and refining metrics used to assess the quality and effectiveness of installation crews. Responsibilities include • Manage installation crews including safety, scheduling, timeliness of install, quality of workmanship, and customer satisfaction. • Assist in defining and implementing process improvements that will make crews more effective. • Interface with customers to provide updates on schedule of work, issues that arise in the field, and any changes to the work scope. • Interface with sales and sales technical support as a technical resource to aid understanding of the product offering and constraints and help close business in the region. • Coordinate the transition from sales on projects that have been sold, including job specific issues. • Assist in writing technical documents and reports that detail installation procedures. • Assist in the creation of metrics used to judge the quality and effectiveness of installation crews. • When metrics have been met, work with Director or Efficiency Operations to hire supporting roles such as Project Managers. The ideal candidate must have the following skills and qualifications: • Excellent problem solving abilities • 5+ years of residential mechanical or HVAC experience, with a minimum of 2 years as a crew lead or foreman • Knowledge and experience in installing and servicing condensing furnaces and water heaters, hydronic heating systems, high SEER forced air cooling systems, multi speed and variable speed pool pumps, insulation systems, solar water heating systems and other energy saving systems and components • BPI Analyst Certification or equivalent • Capable of working in the field for weeks at a time • High quality standards inherent • Excellent computer skills • Great communication skills • Team Player • Works well in a fast paced environment • Ability to work effectively in both a field and an office environment • Must successfully pass a pre-employment background and drug screen Preferred qualifications • Intrinsically motivated to improve the company and the solar/energy efficiency industry • Ability to self manage, take initiative, and effectively work independently • Additional BPI or NATE certifications SolarCity is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity in the workplace.
