ATMOSPHERIC CARBON DIOXIDE CONCENTRATIONS
FOR THE LAST 800,000 YEARS
|
Scientists have known for a long time that the atmosphere serves as an important way for the energy from the sun to be absorbed enough to stabilize the climate. With increased concentrations of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases like methane in the atmosphere, more energy from the sun is reaching the surface of planet earth. There has never ever been a change like the change that has taken place in the last 70 years. That this has been caused by industrial activities in our modern economy is incontrovertible.
