Without food, a person cannot survive. It is often said we are what we eat. Too many people eat too much food that is not good for them, and companies have encouraged this practice. A healthier diet produced sustainably is essential to make a better world.

SHELTER
|
|
Shelter is essential. It is a big sector. Too many people do not have shelter, and too much shelter is not affordable except for the affluent. Shelter is also inefficient in many ways and for a long time.

STUFF
|
|
Stuff of all sorts are used by everyone, including clothes, furniture and a host of other things. Much stuff is designed to be junked quickly rather than used for a long time.

MOBILITY
|
|
Mobility ... getting around is both freedom and a way to access opportunity. Energy and transportion are very big sectors in the modern economy and unsustainable.

RECREATION
|
|
Recreation is of critical importance especially for young people. Recreation for young people should be fun. It can be competitive but within reasonable limits. Many of the activities within recreation also are important learning opportunities for young people, and are opportunities to learn teamwork and leadership.
