On the face of it, this anables an optimistic view of the ultimate outcome of the Ukraine War and a victory over Russia. I hope this is right. But I remember the day in 1957 when the USSR launched 'Sputnik' beating the USA into space and delivering a huge propaganda blow to the technical prestige of the USA. I am also reminded of the quality of Soviet maths education compared to grade schools in the USA ... and while I hope that the USA now has technical superiority over the modern Russian Federation ... and China ... there is a case for remaining a bit cautious about how things will trend into the future. To a considerable extent, modern Russia has been hollowed out by massive corruption in hihg places. It is, howedver, worth considering that the capitalist West and especially the USA has also been weakened by the inherent corruption of an unconstrained totally free market capitalist agenda.Up to a point, the free market is a great idea and works well, but at the extreme it is dangerously dysfunctional.
