I was born in 1940. We lived in Surbiton, Surrey just to the West of London and experienced the 'Blitz'. German V1 rockets that had too much fuel overflew the center of London and then landed in our neighborhood. The Ukraine War is reminding me of when I was very young ... incidents that I had forgotten about for upwards of 70 years. But I also remember the requirement in the UK that we were careful about what we said ... I remember phrases like 'loose lips sink chips' and the huge importance of not signalling to the enemy anything that might inform them of what our next move might be. While I am a strong support of a 'free' media, I am also committed to the idea that a 'free' media must also be a 'responsible' media. Giving Putin's propaganda machine the raw material for his misinformation in this year 2022 is no better that feeding Geobels and the Nazi propaganda apparatus information in WWII.
