The 106m or 347 foot vessel arrived on 12th April and was immediately detained by Fijian authorities working with US federal agencies. The vessel which was on the market last year for €340 million euros is believed to be owned by Suleiman Kerimov who has been sanctioned by the UK and US because of this ties to the Russian President. The captain was issued two infringement notices both coming with fines or prison sentences for failing to follow the rules of arriving in Fiji and failing to comply with vessels disembarking crew.
