PeterBurgess roundtheblock • a minute ago Thank you for bringing up the issue of accuracy ... as you point out, for people of my age, this is not history, but current affairs. I participated in some of the marches and demonstrations in 1959 and 1960 (I think) and the basic theme of the article and pictures captures the feeling of the time very very well. CND was a big deal, and set the stage for the Anti-War activism of the late 1960s in the USA ... and other important protest movements, including those that are going on right now in the aftermath of the George Floyd killing in the USA not to mention the post-election protests in Belarus and the activism in Hong Kong. The role of protest and the freedom to speak out is very important ... even if it is uncomfortable for those with power and responsibility.
