Are We Drowning Yet? LA Progressive dick_and_sharon@laprogressive.com via gmail.mcsv.net 2:06 PM (2 hours ago) to me Are We Drowning Yet? we three Conservative nabob Grover Norquist famously hoped that we could “shrink America’s government to the size that we can drown it in a bathtub.” Starting in earnest during Uncle Ronnie’s two terms, that benighted suggestion gathered steam through subsequent decades, carrying at least some conservative Democrats with it along with most Republicans. Now, with the Covid-19 pandemic raging nonstop across the country, with no cohesive, sensible national plan—beyond injecting yourself with bleach—it seems that Norquist is getting his wish, in spades. For 13 years, with your help, the LA Progressive has been fighting against this sort of idiocy. And in this quarantine, we have ramped up those efforts, publishing more articles than we have and reaching new audiences with every passing week. To donatedo that, we’ve added staff, to edit and post articles, to write original content, and do all the social media tasks needed to get our work in front of people. We’re in discussions to restart our LA Progressive Live videocast series, too. We hope you appreciate the efforts we’re making and we hope you can pitch in. As we do every month or two, we come to you asking you for your support so keep our lights on and our typewriters whirling. (Okay, we don’t use typewriters, though Dick practically put himself through college typing classmates’ term papers on an old Remington upright.) Please dig down for whatever you can to help support our efforts: donate, subscribe, or contribute at any rate you find appropriate. Above you see us in balmier times a few years ago. We’ll get back there—together with you. Let’s pray we do. Dick Price and Sharon Kyle Editor & Publisher Subscribe -- Thank You Copyright ©2016, LA Progressive, All rights reserved.
