Dear Reader,
A little over month ago, I wrote to you about our future plans. The website I mentioned has materialized and we have now launched the cafe I described, which has morphed into a club containing various salons. (I liked the name “Cafe,” but alas, I gave up the good fight.) Regardless of the name, we have created a space that will be, as an old saying goes, a place where we can sit and speak of serious things.
ClubGPF is not about published articles; rather, it’s about conversations between ourselves and our readers concerning those articles and many other things. There will be regular and frequent presentations by me and our analysts. These will use technology to allow our audience and the presenters to see and talk to each other, and to enable members of the audience to speak to each other. There are other Salons, one containing maps, another tracking the accuracy of our forecast, and a discussion forum where members can gather together to discuss and disagree.
For some of you, reading our articles is sufficient. For others, there is an appetite for more. In our world, the more is always conversation, which reveals the subtle strengths and weaknesses of ideas. ClubGPF provides more to those who want it by creating a space in which GPF analysts and Club members can sit and talk about those serious things. I have to confess, I never thought something like the Club was possible technologically or as a business. Both are possible, and we've made it happen. A publication and an ongoing conversation have merged into something greater than each.

ClubGPF is for those with deeper interests and the desire to regularly interact with GPF, to help define the topics we will write about, and to talk about those issues with myself and our team of analysts.The vision that has emerged in the past half year has now come to life.
