There is a concept of 'materiality' in accountancy and financial reporting. Using this criterion the efforts of Coca Cola and Pepsi are immaterial ... inconsequential ... in the bigger scheme of things. The amount of money they divert to doing good projects in the water space are tiny relative to the amounts of money that flows to their stockholders.
