Learn How Gainesville Put Socrata Data Lens and Spatial Lens to Work Spreadsheets are an efficient way to display data, but they can often overwhelm non-technical audiences. The City of Gainesville routinely creates visualizations of their datasets to help address this problem, and the City knows how visual elements such as charts, graphs, and maps can establish context and make open data more useful for citizens and City employees. As a participant in Socrata’s Data Lens tech preview, Gainesville contributed to the design process and had early opportunities to use the new tools. On Tuesday, June 16, Senior Analyst for the City of Gainesville Samantha B. Wolfe joined Socrata to discuss how the City has put Data Lens and Spatial Lens to work. In this webinar, you will learn: How the City of Gainesville prepares their data for visualization Which datasets have been most effective as Data Lens pages How citizens and City employees have responded to the new tools Watch this webinar to get a look at one of Socrata’s newest platform features.
