About the book

This book was the outcome of experience in many parts of the world working on many different aspects of relief and development and being very dis-satisfied with the performance of projects, big and small, in almost everything to do with relief and development. Something much better is possible, but not until there is a revolutionary change in the approach.

Many issues need to be addressed. The book tries to organize the structure of development so that it can be a distributed program rather than being a top-down command situation ... and driven by local priorities more than by the agenda of the donors and powerful nations.
