Regions of the Poconos
The Pocono Mountains of northeastern Pennsylvania is divided into six regions: Mountain Region, Lake Region, Delaware River Region, Upper Delaware River Region, Wyoming Valley, and Lehigh River Gorge Region.[4]

Lehman Township
Lehman Township has been an established community since 1829. In 1815 Joseph Leighman was listed on the tax rolls for Upper Smithfield Township paying 55 cents on 442 acres. In 1824 his name was spelled Leaman and by 1832 it was Lehman. The Township is approximately 48.9 square miles or approximately 31,296 acres.

Middle Smithfield Township
As of the census of 2000, there were 11,495 people, 3,973 households, and 3,031 families residing in the township.

Charles E. Peters first opened Bushkill Falls to the public in 1904, with a single path and a swinging bridge over the head of the main falls. Bushkill Falls is still owned by the Peters family.

Several miles along the bottom of the valley that starts with the Delaware Water Gap ... land that was acquired by the Federal Government when it was planned to built the Tochs Island dam and flood the area.
