During a visit by Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Germany he met Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
During their meeting Scholz refused Erdogan’s request to sell Eurofighter Typhoons to Ankara.
This comes amid frosty ties between Turkey and Germany as they disagree on the Israel-Hamas war, Russia-Ukraine war and Europe’s Refugee crisis.
It is also unlikely that the other nations part of the Eurofighter Typhoon project including UK, Italy and Spain will also not agree to Erdogan’s request.
Erdogan will now have to approach China and Russia to buy new fighter jets to replace its F-16 and F-4 planes.
