This is a valuable reminder that the United States has huge potential because of its geography and the abundance of natural resources in this georgraphy.
While I have been aware of much of this since my schoolboy education, it is something that is too easy to forget.
More than 50 images in the text below help to remind me of the unique geographical strength of the USA, and how it has been and can be exploited in support of strong socio-enviro-economic performance ... or not.
The ancient empires came and went in large part because leaders became complacent and made bad choices ... and much the same dynamic remains in play in recent times. In spite its overwhelming geographical strengths and the scale of much that America does, it is suprisingly fragile at this point in history. Whether or not the people of the USA and its political leaders will make good choices in the months and years ahead is not clear, but it is very important.
This version of the TVM webpage does not have explanatory notes for the images .. in theory this will be done in a few days ... in practice more likely not.
