Peter, in the email below we’re going to explain why it would mean a lot to make your next contribution to support Alexandria before tomorrow’s FEC deadline. If you’re unable to chip in at this time — we completely understand. But right now we’re still short of our goal, and if you’re able to make a $50 contribution, now would be the best moment.
Here’s why tomorrow’s deadline means so much:
Thanks to an enormous amount of small-dollar, grassroots support, Alexandria regularly ranks as one of the top fundraisers in all of Congress — this demonstrates that the ideas we’re fighting for, like a Green New Deal, abolishing ICE, and ending the filibuster have strong support across the country.
Special interests, politicians, and pundits pay close attention to the rankings each quarter. If our momentum starts to slow down, it could signal as an indication that our agenda is losing support, and opponents could see it as an opportunity to run a strong, well-funded campaign against Alexandria and other progressives across the country.
What makes our movement particularly strong is the sheer number of grassroots donors from all walks of life who’ve chipped in to support our campaign. Already, we’ve received donations from more than 87% of counties across the country. Red counties, blue counties, purple ones, and everywhere in between.
