And while they grumbled at how those various organizations’ requests weren’t harmonized, they dutifully complied with their requests and mandates. Finally, help may be on the way. Today, two of those organizations — GRI, formerly the Global Reporting Initiative, and the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board, better known as SASB — are announcing a collaborative effort to help ease that confusion and, not insignificantly, position their standards as the most consequential. My column this week delves into what they're doing, why and the potential implications. On Thursday, July 16, I'll be in conversation with the always-provocative Paul Polman, on a range of topics including the need for CEOs to be courageous, and why coronavirus is an acid test for stakeholder capitalism. We think it’s as vital as ever now to engage and promote a diverse group of students and emerging professionals within our event. Apply here by this Friday, July 17. Tread Lightly. Impress Deeply. Sponsored by Cox: At Cox, our goal is to be a force for good in the world. Driving positive environmental change — inside our company and within the communities we serve — is one of the most important things we do. In 2007, we launched Cox Conserves, our national sustainability program with goals to send zero waste to landfill by 2024, and to be carbon and water neutral by 2044. With more than $100 million invested in sustainability and conservation projects, we’re making meaningful progress in our journey. LEARN MORE #Trending Now 1+1 = 11? GRI and SASB are collaborating.
