The avowed purpose of this meeting was to make some key introductions and to attempt to connnect the dots of each person's common interest to our plans and model. At the time of the meeting yesterday, most of the parties did not know each other. I was the link to most but Alphonso and Mayor Nutter went to prep school together. It is a key and hopefully providential connection. We have been working on scheduling this meeting for more than a month.
It is my belief that if a community of interest can be established then many opportunities result. This seems to be what has happened here. The meeting was purposely unstructured to see what chemistry and interests developed. That seems to be exactly what happened. Significant interest from Mayor Nutter was established and while there are always risks in unstructured events, this was one of the times when serendipity and synergy were obvious. Key stakeholders were identified, contacts exchanged, a new venue identified. A clear social and economic opportunity emerged. We now have a second prospective municipality on our list: Philadelphia!
I would like the Radius Team: Coles, Zwagil, Rosser, and Jackson to have a conference call on Monday at 4:00 pm for a post mortem and review and to set the strategic path forward with tasks and timeline.
